Recently, there has been a major surge in group buying websites and portals. Interestingly, I decided to do a little research... turns out there are quite a few who have died out already recently... but there are still about 20+ websites which are still operating actively. =)

Super Deals is by 701Panduan Sdn Bhd, a co-joint company by the two leading media publications in both Malaysia and Singapore namely Star Publications (M) Bhd and Singapore Press Holdings Ltd. In March 2011, 701Panduan Sdn Bhd launched SuperDeals.my, an online shopping platform features amazing deals on the best stuff to do, see, eat and buy in Malaysia for their online consumers.

Not much news about Wow Deal - except that their last deal was on 11th March 2011.
Interesting website, but does a lot of health-based / spa-based deals.
A Penang-based website. Hence its deals are mainly in Penang.
GroupsMore began on 1st September 2010. At the end of 2010, Groupon got in touch with them– and welcomed them into their family. GroupsMore officially joined the Groupon family in January 2011 – and thus, Groupon Malaysia was formed. Probably one of the sites with the strongest backing now.
It says on their site - in association with Yahoo Malaysia. Enough said. =)
Everyday.com.my is a Buying Guide Platform for interactions between Customers & Merchant. We started on December 2007, with a goal and that goal still valid today, which is to advocates consumer empowerment to Malaysian consumer. Large network - hence pretty strong too.
Not much information about MadnessDeal - except that its office is in Puchong.
An interesting website; recent deals features a lot of concerts, shows and travel stuffs.
Not much info about this, a pretty new set up.
This one has a lot of potential - with some strong backing. It is a joint-venture between Mind Valley and the Catcha Media Group. Yes... the giants from Catcha. =P
Read the About page - founded and started in October 2010. Last deal however... was on 22nd January 2011.
Rumours say that the people behind MilkADeal are also the founders of Nuffnang and Churp Churp.
Currently no deals though... wonder why...
Met up with one of its founder Benson during one of my food reviews awhile ago.
A quick check on its address shows that it shares same address as the EFUNTV Group. Efuntv Group is an emerging internet media operating enterprise which applies the latest internet technology, integrates entertainment, global television and global music radio in one.
It is supported by Qinetics Solutions Berhad - involved in the provision of internet domain name registration, management and system development and provision of web and IT solutions to both Service Provider and Enterprise customers. A MOL company and part of Tan Sri Vincent Tan's private businesses. =)
