Yesterday I received this little booklet in the mail from friends in Utah. It contains 16 of my hymns which were translated from English into Welsh as part of a project for the opening semester of the year for the Welsh class at Brigham Young University. Regular readers of this Blog may recall that I was invited to speak to the students about my work as a hymn-writer, and that I went over for that purpose back in March of this year.
This little booklet arrived together with a DVD of the Welsh Choir Concert at which a selection of the hymns were performed. I shall treasure both a s a reminder of not only my visit to a great place, but also meeting so many wonderful people.

Emynau Cymraeg: 'GOGONIANT FO I’R UCHEL IÔR'
Tôn: Abridge
Llawenydd ein calonnau clyw
Pob llais a llaw sy fri;
Angylion ganant uchel glod,
Wrth rhoddi mawl i ti.
Gogoniant fo i’r uchel Iôr,
I Iesu, Fab y Nef;
Gogoniant fo i’r Ysbryd Glân,
I’r Drindod, codwn lef.
Mewn cân addolwn Grist y Mab,
Ag anthem lawen gref;
Mae côr y nef yn chwyddo’r gân
O foliant iddo Ef.
Gogoniant fo i’r uchel Iôr,
I Iesu, Fab y Nef;
Gogoniant fo i’r Ysbryd Glân,
I’r Drindod, codwn lef.

All Glory to Our God Above CM
TUNE: Abridge
The joy within our heart rings out,
Voices and hands we raise;
The angels up in heaven sing loud,
In glory and with praise.
All glory to our God above,
And to Jesus, the Son,
All glory to the Holy Ghost,
Worship the Three-in-One.
In song we worship Christ the Son,
Anthems of joy now raise;
The heav’nly choir has now begun
Their worship songs of praise.
All glory to our God above,
And to Jesus, the Son,
All glory to the Holy Ghost,
Worship the Three-in-One.

Emynau Cymraeg: 'Sain yr Utgorn'
SAIN YR UTGORN
Tôn: Aurelia 76 76D
Mae’r utgorn aur yn seinio
Ar fore’r trydydd dydd,
A’r saint yn canu clodydd
Y Crist a’n gwnaeth yn rhydd.
Fe ddaeth i achub dynion
A llwyr ddileu pob loes,
Ond talodd bris ein pechod
Wrth farw ar y groes.
Ni thalwn byth y ddyled
Am bopeth a wnaeth Ef,
Ond gallwn hawlio’r wobr
Sydd inni yn y nef.
Pan ddaw i ben ein tymor
O weithio yn ei faes,
Fe’n galw adre’i orffwys
I’w foli ac un llais.

The Trumpet Sounds 7676 D
Tune: Aurelia
The trumpet sounds a fanfare,
Outside the empty grave;
The people sing their praises,
For Jesus came to save.
He came to save the fallen,
To seek and find the lost,
For us, we have redemption,
For Him the dreadful cost.
We never can repay Him
For all that He has done;
We can but claim the vict’ry
That He for us has won.
When all our work is over,
According to His ways,
He’ll call us home to Heaven,
To sing eternal praise!
