Barneys Girl Shops the UO Sale
First up, this Free People Morning Glory dress for $89.99. I love the simple design and the refreshing color. Its perfect for a casual summer day dress. Since its from Free People, expect the material to be delicate and flimsy.
I expect this is one of those things that would disappoint if one see's it in real life. The material is probably very thin and coarse, with not much of a shape to it. But for $24.99 I thought it might be a fun fashion buy. I like the stripes, the color isn't too cheap and the scoop with the buttons is interesting.
Mixed links chain for $14.95. I have a weakness for these kind of designs lately and it can't really go that wrong. . . .
Another fun buy this season are these brown Miss Sixty's platforms for $89.99 which are very SS06 Chloe/YSL/Miu Miu. A great match for any of your summer outfits!
Finally, for something more comfortable, casual and classical, there are these studded flip flops for $24.99.
They are also doing a limited time promotion right now, where an additional 25% will be taken off sale items. The promotion ends Sunday (July 2nd), so hurry up and check it out!
'We're sounding amazing'
Kathy called Thursday from Germany. She bought a phone card, and I guess she's determined to use it.
There was a new maturity in her voice, as well as a tinge of homesickness. She said she was truly homesick when the group was in Minden, but she's over it. She still is looking forward to getting back to the United States.
The performances have been, in her words, "sounding amazing." The group has been performing primarily in churches, and even was part of a Sunday liturgy at a Lutheran church. That would have been something to behold.
The one performanced not in church was in an auditorium at Bückeberg, and that sounded fabulous, too, according to Kathy.
The Native American gifts are a big hit with the host families.
And she's met someone named Ranzenberger! Apparently, it's a guy about her age. When someone said the name with the Deutsch pronunciation -- "the way you say it, Dad," -- it got her attention big-time.
Still ahead: La Belle France!
I can't wait to hear these guys.

SS06 Bags Trend II: White
This Dior Gaucho bag was really the SS06 bag I wanted at the beginning of the season. Fortunately, it was so expensive that I didn't buy it -thank goodness because it certainly isn't as practical as the Marc bag, (although it is way more fashionable.)
Miu Miu had a huge selection of plain bags this season, many being white. Some people don't like the huge bag trend this season, but it's so convenient when you're on the run in the summer.
I know a lot of people don't like the new direction Gucci has taken, but I really like it. This bag is very classy, but you would probably need an equally classy outfit to match!
Prada is a huge trendsetter for the whole white bag trend. This huge Prada leather frame bag is one of its main seasonal bag.
A white nylon with leather trimming bag by Prada. I love how pristine it looks, but I imagine you must be extremely paranoid about where to put it.
This J.Crew tote is perfect for a day to the beach; to the yauht; to the pool...
I'm loving this Urban Outfitters tote, (although I really can't comment much until I see it in real life.) I really want a bag that has both the handles and the extra shoulder strap like this one. This bag is a great combination of being trendy and practical.
Since I'm on the topic of practical totes, I must mention Tod's. This bag certainly isn't for people who like lots of complicated details, but it's great for those who have very simple taste.
It really isn't only a myth -white bags seriously match 95% of the summer outfits. I am so in love with them now. Just a little reminder: Use a damp cloth to wipe your bag once a week to keep it white.
